Scaling and Polishing

One of the most fundamental dental operations is tooth cleaning, commonly known as scaling and polishing. Plaque and tartar will still build up on your teeth after eating, even if you brush and floss after every meal. Over time, this can result in significant gum disease or tooth rot. As a result, regular dental examinations and cleanings are necessary.

Scaling: We remove tartar (calculus) and hardened plaque from your teeth with our ultrasonic scalers. By knocking away undesired dirt with ultrasonic vibrations, this device removes it. Compared to the past, while using a manual hand scaler, it may eliminate tartar considerably more quickly.

Polishing, on the other hand, involves using a rotating polishing cup or brush to remove plaque and stains from the surface of your teeth. Additionally, the external surfaces are smoothened during this process, which makes it harder for dirt to attach to your teeth.

At the conclusion of the scaling and polishing procedure, your dentist may use a concentrated fluoride gel to treat your teeth if necessary. This gel, which comes in a variety of flavours, including raspberry, works to prevent tooth decay by strengthening the tooth's defences against acid attacks from oral bacteria.
